muffin looks blank for a second, trying to translate the whistle into bird, then laughs and straightens up his posture before unpacking a basket from his light space. just a LITTLE bit of a pose.]
[ anyway time to lounge on his side on the sand lazily flicking his tail as muffin sets up. when did that tail get here and visible? it is a mystery. ]
[he's getting a blanket out of the bag and spreading it on the sand. he's got a cushion for lounging on. he's got ANOTHER blanket in case the sea breeze gets too chilly. there's candles, there's the boozy chocolates, there's cherries, there's pita chips and yogurt-wild spinach dip with tiny flowers in it.
there's a cocktail glass, there's an orange slice, there's ice and small jars getting combined, and that's a CREAMSICLE MARTINI getting passed to Quetzal.]
he makes it a couple more siiiips in before he opens his mouth again, satisfied to go off guard and be right next to one of his favoritest people. ]
Did I... Hold on.
[ loads a pita chip Generously with dip. crunch. now it's talking time. ]
Did I ever tell you, the first time I tried wine, I dropped the whole goblet because I thought it was poison?
Three hundred year old bottle from a legendary vineyard that got razed in... one of the Burmecian wars or other. Tasted like straight vinegar. Never developed an especial taste for the stuff, but I did develop a taste for sounding like I did. And wine forging is fun. Like a puzzle. And! If you mess up, just put it in the right person's cellar, and you can ruin them.
[gasps appropriately, nooooo you didn't!, and laughs]
That old, could be vinegar! Can be good money in forging. How many people know what hundred Gold wine tastes like? Will buy counterfeit even knowing is fake, long as guests think they have good stuff.
[not the cocktail though! that's fresh! he puffs up a little proudly at his treat being appreciated]
It's too bad lot of the tricks and information you'd use to do that kind of thing are... largely difficult... to transfer along to another world. Who was using what seals when, which strangely specific color of sand from one single shoreline you need for the glass, historical famine years and too-rainy seasons...
Though. After a certain point, like you said -- how many know? If you're in it for the the profit, might as well just sell ten good-enough fakes to your one perfect fake masterpiece... and you can even give them something drinkable, too.
[ angie, clearly, just liked it for the pleasure of trickery. ]
Know what I smuggle? My biggest riskiest money-maker, only worth trading some chores for in this world? All my network gone for walking over to greenhouse?
[ he wraps his lips around the chocolate and of course sucks on Muffin's fingers while he's at it because we all knew that was going to happen, right ]
[hehehe hugs quetzal's arm and leaaaans on him— with a glance to the missing leg to make sure he won't topple them both over. he said beau~ he said boyfriend~~~]
[laughs and grabs for his hand, leaning up to bump their faces together, rubbing his cheek against quetzal's like he's in his other form, purring loudly. it's cuddly and he feels a little silly actually doing it, but he gives quetzal's freckles a small chomp.]
